South Central Ohio Job and Family Services (SCOJFS) pays part of the cost of childcare for qualifying families as they work toward self-sufficiency. This help is available for parents who are working in paid employment, attending school, completing vocational training, or working off cash assistance.

Families receiving this benefit must take their children to childcare providers who are certified by SCOJFS or are licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and under contract with SCOJFS. The childcare benefit is paid directly to the childcare provider or center and families are expected to pay a part of the cost based on income and family size.

Choosing a perfectly matched childcare provider is up to the family, but we are also here to help along the way.  We all need a little help sometimes. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us - we’re here to help you get quality, trustworthy childcare.  You may find more information at http://jfs.ohio.gov/CDC/childcare.stm or may Apply for childcare services.

You may apply by calling your local office at 855-726-5237 and requesting an application.

Child Support

Child Support is money paid by a parent, who isn’t living with his or her children, to help cover the cost of their care. Child Support helps guarantee that children’s basic needs are met: from food, shelter and clothes to education, transportation and medical expenses.

Protective Services

We provide protective services to the elderly and children who are in danger of harm, unable to protect themselves, and/or have no one else to assist them. SCOJFS is mandated to investigate and evaluate all reports of suspected abuse and neglect.
